THE STORY OF TWO WOLVES
The Story of Two Wolves is a story about a Cherokee grandfather teaching his grandson. One day, he sits down with the boy and says, "Son, there are two wolves inside each of us. One is filled with love, compassion, trust, and joy. The other is filled with hatred, anger, greed, and envy." The grandson asks, "So, which one wins?" And the grandfather replies, "The one you feed."

Self-awareness through astrology is a course I developed after graduating with my master's in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2000. This course was initially targeted at the local community college in Blue Bell, PA, where I taught it for ten years. Nevertheless, it ended up being exhausting with too many students. During the same time, I taught this concept to smaller and more intimate groups at home, which resulted in better results. With the ever-growing changes in the world today and technology, I look forward to smaller, more intimate Zoom sessions. Below are two examples that give more explanation of its success. Please read on (All names have been changed.)
Margaret and Sam
Margaret and Sam own and run a few bars. They have been married for ten years. The bars have been their children, and their relationship is struggling as they initiate individual consultations with me. Sam has recently had an affair with one of the barmaids. After the individual consultations, they decided to come in weekly together during the day before bar hours.
Margaret is already an avid astrology lover who disagrees with modern-day therapy. She and Sam both prefer astrology over traditional therapy. The class is catered to their already solid astrology base. Still, an astrological point is taught supporting their presenting problem, then applied to their charts. Processing ensues. During two to three years, they separate and then divorce. Sam comes in alone at times, and Margaret initiates another relationship. Margaret brings in her boyfriend on one occasion and her dad on his birthday. Each session teaches an astrological point that supports their ongoing visits. To this day, they still maintain a relationship that has grown over the years. Margaret and Sam decided they were better off as business partners and had grown inseparable as business owners. Both are still single.

Gretchen, Mary
Gretchen and Mary became self-aware through astrology in their early thirties. They are still single and have watched their college friends get married and begin families. They both want that same experience and feel that time is running out. They both work full time and after work on Thursdays, they gather at my house for an hour and a half for coffee to learn a relevant astrological point that is then applied to each of their charts. There was AHA! Moments. There were moments of joy, laughter, and tears shed in a safe and trusted environment. The sessions were weekly and biweekly, lasting over five years. Sometimes, they invited friends that they thought would enjoy the class. Gretchen and Mary remained consistent while some of their friends would come and go. Today, Gretchen is an astrologer, and Mary is now with a partner caring for the children.
